When it comes to hydroseeding, the devil is in the details.
The cost of hydroseeding services is fiercely competitive in southern New Hampshire – only pennies per square foot. How do you know if you are getting a quality product? We can’t speak for other hydroseeding companies – but at Trimmers Landscaping, we customize our hydroseed blends and use the absolute best product – because we guarantee it.
Wood Fiber Mulch – We only use a paper-and-wood fiber product in our hydroseed mix. It has superior erosion control and moisture retention compared to the cheaper corn fiber mulch used by price-point hydro-seed services. Better seed generation and erosion control means less callbacks for the commercial client. Because we customize our blends, we can also add more fiber in areas with potential erosion issues.
Soil Amendments – Most hydroseed mixes contain fertilizer to ensure fast germination; ours also contains lime to raise the pH of the soil – as New England soils are primarily acidic. As an option, we can provide a pre-emergent weed control in our hydroseed mix. This is especially helpful for seeding lawns in the spring time when weed competition is at its peak.
Seed Blends – Customization of hydroseed mixes means we can provide a specific seed for a specific application. We have Park and Athletic seed for tough turf, Sun and Shade for lush residential lawns. We even have wildflower mix and annual rye grass for municipal and commercial applications. At Trimmers, we use a higher seed-to-mulch ratio than recommended – ensuring a fast, thick lawn the first time with no need to overseed again.
We guarantee germination our hydroseed within two weeks of application.
Of course, the best guarantee for a thick, lush lawn is to have an automatic irrigation system and a lawn fertilization program. Don’t have one? Ask us how!
